How did it strike you on arrival?
Tranquil and refined, the Four Seasons knows how to cosset customers, beginning by whisking guests from the bustling Magnificent Mile entrance up to the lobby on the seventh floor, which is clad in acres of marble and accented by giant floral arrangements. The hotel recently underwent an award-winning reimagining by women-owned Rottet Studios, and art remains a central aspect of that aesthetic (as evidenced by welcoming art installation Urbs in Horto, an abstract tree canopy interpretation from Toronto’s Unitfive Design).

What’s the crowd like?
Quality-seekers with the resources to pay for the best.

The good stuff: Tell us about your room.
On floors 30 to 46, rooms have stellar skyline views (ask for a lake view to tower over Lake Michigan). Suites have doors that separate living from sleeping quarters, but even the smallest rooms have a residential feel with armchairs, matching ottomans, and circular dining tables.

We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?
Downy, with crisp linens tightly tucked.

Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.
Spacious bathrooms with marble counters, Malin + Goetz amenities that are easy to swipe and come in under the TSA's 3-ounce rule, and plush terrycloth bathrobes to wrap up in post-shower.

Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?
Good and included.

Room service: What do they have here?
Options by the dozens, from the long wine list to the children's menu, plus a slew of items guaranteed to be delivered in 15 minutes or less. Curl up in a bathrobe with a glass of prosecco and some cheese and charcuterie (and for a real splurge, opt for the hotel’s in-room ice cream cart experience).

Staff: Did anyone stand out?
Top-notch concierge staff can help with a medley of requests, from sporting or theatre tickets to some of the hottest dinner bookings in town.

Anything we missed that we should have asked about?
Don’t miss the chance to dine at Adorn, an elegant room just beyond the lobby where chef Richie Farina serves an array of innovative and seasonally driven options. Spring for the tasting menu, a chance to try several of them and meet whimsical surprises along the way. When it comes to pairings, leave it in the hands of the knowledgeable sommelier team. And for cocktails, head up to floor 46 post-dinner—Mile High Cocktail Club, an internationally inspired speakeasy lounge, awaits.

What was most memorable about your stay?
The top-notch service that makes you feel like a royal.

Bottom line: Why are we booking here?
Luxury-level accommodations with price, amenities and service to match.
