PHOENIX — May 17, 2022 — Phoenix Children’s, one of the nation’s largest pediatric health systems, recently announced a partnership with Coplex (coplex.com), a leading venture studio and corporate innovation firm, to launch six new health care technology startups over the next three years.
“We’re honored to partner with Phoenix Children’s because its mission is something we care deeply about and the pediatric health care space is ripe for innovation,” said Jake Huber, Managing Partner at Coplex. “It’s a privilege to work closely to help Phoenix Children’s develop new technology with the potential to impact countless lives.”
The Coplex corporate venture studio platform enables enterprises to create, staff and scale new high-growth technology ventures in specific thematic areas of interest. Coplex has developed world-renowned corporate innovation programs that use an organization’s own expertise and networks to accelerate growth by leveraging proven venture-building methodologies.
This partnership provides an avenue to bring the patented innovations developed at Phoenix Children’s to the pediatric health care community at large and have the greatest possible impact on the health and well-being of children. The heath system has long been recognized for the development of healthcare IT and data innovations, creating world-renowned data tools for managing complex care, predictive algorithms that advance the treatment of diseases, and unique tools that improve the patient and family experience during the difficult time when a loved one is in the hospital.
“Phoenix Children’s is committed to providing best-in-class care for the families we’re privileged to serve. That means we often must create novel solutions specific to pediatric care, when existing options aren’t suitable for kids,” said David Higginson, Chief Innovation Officer at Phoenix Children’s. “Partnering with Coplex will enable us to leverage the innovations that we create in-house to impact our own patients, and share those with the health care community at large, which could impact thousands of more lives every day. This work will continue to grow our culture of innovation.”
Phoenix Children’s is one of the nation’s largest pediatric health systems. It comprises Phoenix Children’s Hospital – Main Campus, Phoenix Children’s Hospital – East Valley at Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, four pediatric specialty and urgent care centers, 11 community pediatric practices, 20 outpatient clinics, two ambulatory surgery centers and seven community-service-related outpatient clinics throughout the state of Arizona.
