 What is matter?

Matter - Matter is anything that has weight and takes up space. It is made up of particles.

 

Matter can be classified in three states  Solid, Liquid and gas.

       1. solids - keep their shape and are usually hard. 

Properties of solid

  • Rigid- means it cannot poured
  • Fixed shape - it doesn't take the shape of its container
  • Fixed volume -  The measurement remains the same

      2. Liquids - Liquid can be pour and change shape depending on the container they are in.

 

Properties of liquid

  • Not rigid- It's a fluid and can be poured
  • No fixed shape- The liquid shapes like its container.
  • Fixed volume-  The measurement remains the same
