It is very important for us to educate children about the foods they eat. There are foods that will harm our bodies and foods that are good for the body. We should always strive to eat a balanced diet, so we can grow strong and healthy and always  full of energy.

Task

Students will be asked to go to a Website where they can fit puzzles in different food groups among other food games. The reason for this activity is to give students a chance to be more aware of the foods we eat and also be able to identify healthy foods from junk foods.

Process

In your notebook and using the Website given:

1. Define food. Give examples

2. Identify different food groups.

3.In pairs play the food Jigsaw puzzle.

Just click on the picture to start the game.

  • Pick a puzzle by clicking on it with your mouse.

  • Then click on the drop down menu and choose the number of pieces.

  • Less numbers makes the puzzle easier and higher numbers make the puzzle harder.

  • Use your mouse to click and drag pieces together to complete the jigsaw puzzle.

  • You can see how long it took you by looking at the timer at the top.

4. From the foods in the different puzzles students will draw two columns in their books. Label them as healthy foods and junk foods, and group them foods under the correct headings.

Evaluation

Students will be evaluated based on the table they have created for healthy foods and junk foods.
