In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, niacinamide 2% decreased sebum excretion rates in Japanese subjects after 2 and 4 weeks of application compared to the control group. In Caucasian subjects, casual sebum levels were reduced after 6 wks of use compared to the control group.
