Steve Jobs wrote serial numbers onto the Apple-1 computer

(Germany – February 10, 2022) Two forensic examinations of the handwritten serial number on the back of some Apple-1s were carried out in 2021/22 using two original Apple-1s. Both times the result was clear: it is the handwriting of Steve Jobs. Another legacy of Steve Jobs.

The story was a small sensation, and hundreds of newspapers, blogs, etc. reported on this in 2022.

The Apple-1 Registry is a list of all known Apple-1 computers. The mission is to preserve the history of the first Apple computer. Owners, enthusiasts, Apple fans, auction houses, and the press always refer to this list. Apple-1 computers are an important and rare piece of history. The list was initially created by Mike Willegal (USA). Since 2018, Achim Baqué (Germany) has been the new curator.

The Apple-1 Registry not only contains a detailed list of all known Apple-1 computers. For many Apple-1s, the history and much more is preserved in the list, including hundreds of pictures. Additional information about the Apple-1 computer, its peripherals, software, documents, and history are available. An interactive image of the Apple-1 computer explains all components and the purpose of each.

Rounded off by stories, a world map, a list of all museums, and many options to sort and filter the list of all Apple-1s.
All known successful auctions can be found in a separate list. A marketplace overview explains how to buy and sell the Apple-1.

200 Apple-1 computers were produced in 1976. Invented by Steve Wozniak, the Apple-1 was the beginning of Apple Computer. A remarkable story.
The curator of the Apple-1 Registry owns a unique document from the European Union about the Apple-1 from 2015. It is written in German. Translation is "This is a computer from the first series of personal computers for private use with a keyboard. This first series (there are 63 computers worldwide) is regarded as the beginning of the computer era outside the business sector. The product is to be classified as a 'collector's item of historical / ethnological value'."
