Interactive new media works by Hagar Elazari.
About
Hagar Elazari presents the interactive installations Crossroad and Meteo Generative.
This is what she says about the works:
Crossroad:
Some people find comfort in a horoscope, others in talking to a psychic. I find that the comfort that is sometimes conveyed to people through motivational quotes has a lot in common with the two phenomena mentioned above. Both are vague and can be interpreted to fit different situations. In this installation I try to capture this phenomenon.
Meteo Generative:
This is a generative platform based on the idea that an algorithm using data from a nearby weather sensor can generate different patterns based on the readings from that sensor. It's a poetic way to read data in a way that's both aesthetic and thought-provoking. Do we really need to know the exact temperature, humidity, or barometric pressure? Or could we interpret patterns in ways that aren't so precise, but rather convey a feeling.
Artist Hagar Elazari has been working since 2013 with a focus on interactivity and technology. Born in Israel, Elazari moved to Berlin in 2017, where she currently lives and works. Since receiving her master's degree in industrial design from Politecnico di Milano, her work has been commissioned by numerous art festivals such as the Amsterdam Light Festival and the Jerusalem Festival of Lights, and exhibited at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan and Arsenale di Venezia.
