The speed of learning music depends on how eager the learner is. To learn music and even before that one must know which genre of music, he should give more priority to. The time required to learn music is slightly dependent on the type of music you are aiming to learn and how much time you have available each day. Some people can learn music in a few years by being very committed and practicing for several hours a day, while others practice slowly and steadily, which can take several years to master.

Learning music can be a lifelong process, and the level of success depends on your regular practice, guidance of a Guru, and commitment. It will also depend on your pace of learning music and your objectives. Objective means that everyone has their own enjoyment and approach to learning music. Some people want to learn music as a hobby and for some people music is an integral part of their life, music is their livelihood and source of income. Both these things have different importance. People who learn as a hobby do not want to go too deep, they just want to learn enough to sing / play a little. But some people who go deep into this art have to practice it for a long time and mature themselves day by day.

To learn good music quickly, it is very important to be disciplined. Every day it is necessary to honestly think and observe what has been taught by the Gurus. Then how much you practice what has been taught is important.

It is said that only a jeweler can test a diamond, similarly only a good Guru can test a good artist.

To learn music, one should choose a qualified Guru. For this also pt. Channulal Mishra said in an event that a very important thing that - " Drink water after knowing it and choose a Guru after careful consideration". One should choose a Guru after a lot of thought. Only the Guru can tell the difference between right and wrong.

We have heard many parents asking when will our child start singing and playing and also how soon will our child start singing on stage. Some such parents consider music to be a very trivial knowledge. Parents are more impatient than the child. Such parents want that their son should become a great artist with one or two months of education. And many parents create so much mental tension in small children that the child's urge to learn, to acquire some good knowledge ends. At an early age itself they make the child sit on the stage and make him a slave to the applause of a few people, from an early age itself they incite him to earn money.

Such parents do not realize that at that age the child needs to improve his art of learning. That child is not able to understand all this depth and starts considering the incomplete knowledge as everything. His childhood is spent in this incomplete knowledge. When that child is young, his singing/playing can be charming but after growing up, it seems tuneless and superficial knowledge. And when that person faces a knowledgeable and well-educated person, in that situation that person with incomplete knowledge starts feeling small.

Then the time for getting good education is gone and he is surrounded by many family or social problems. In that situation, he is not able to improve himself even if he wants to, and slowly that person becomes a victim of inferiority complex. And he is forced to live with his little knowledge. And some people automatically get proud of their wrong knowledge, and they start teaching others. So, avoid such half-baked knowledge and one should get proper guidance to remove the weakness of one's knowledge.

Many times, the learners are in such an eagerness that they feel that they should learn everything at one go. They do not consider preliminary education to be important and want to directly sing / play. And the result is that they are not able to identify the notes and rhythm properly and they become tuneless and out of tune. That is why practice of notes is very important, practice of 10 thaats, accurate practice of 12 swaras is extremely important.

Someone has very rightly said, "If one is achieved, all will be achieved; if all is achieved, all will be lost", therefore, with patience continue to do the practice told by the guru. Move ahead step by step and you will see that improvements will start coming.
