Man denies £45k romance fraud

A man has denied scamming a woman out of £45,000 in a so-called romance fraud.

Richard Gorman, 52, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Thursday, in relation to alleged offences between 1 August 2020 and 1 November 2023.

He entered a plea of not guilty to one count of fraud by false representation.

His trial is set for 30 September 2027 at the same court.
