The droplet-like motif, known as boteh or buta, emerged as a fusion of floral spray and cypress tree—a potent symbol of life and eternity in Zoroastrianism. This seed-like shape, laden with fertility connotations and ties to Hinduism, weaves a rich narrative that resonates across cultures. Notably, the paisley bears a striking resemblance to the iconic yin-yang symbol, adding layers of intrigue to its symbolic power.

Fast-forwarding to the present, we witness the resurgence of paisley in the contemporary design. In summer this iconic motif experiences a revival, captivating modern fashion trends. Reinterpreting paisley, blending tradition with innovation, and exploring its renewed popularity I worked on a series of seamless vector prints in this spirit.
