WONDER
Rediscover The World With Curiosity
Wonder is a 20 page, magazine exploring the theme of rediscovering the world with curiosity. Designed for curious minded young adults and creatives, the magazine blends narrative storytelling with intentional typography, expressive imagery, and a cohesive visual identity. The publication features a letter from the editor, two department spreads, two feature articles, and a historical artifact page. All working together to create a sense of calm curiosity and renewed perspective. Every element was crafted to reflect a consistent tone, thoughtful pacing, and a refined layout system, resulting in a modern, editorial piece that invites readers to slow down and see the world differently.
Wonder was created to explore curiosity by slowing down and spending time in the details. This project challenged me most in the visual design and layout process, where I learned to balance the structure of a grid with unexpected moments of surprise. I discovered that while the identity of a project doesn’t always appear immediately, when it clicks, everything begins to fall into place. I designed with my audience in mind, shaping each element to reflect their personalities, ages, and interests. I’m especially proud of my department spreads and second feature article, where the relationship between content and form felt especially strong. Most of all, this project taught me the importance of quality; by being intentional with imagery, and creating design that not only looks good, but also supports and deepens the story. Wonder reminded me that thoughtful design can inspire thoughtful attention and that’s where curiosity thrives.
ChatGPT was a helpful tool in this project by supporting idea development, content generation, and creative momentum, all under my direction. It acted like a behind the scenes collaborator, helping me work through creative blocks while supporting a more intentional design process.
