Stimmt Es, Dass ...? — Motion
This is a new documentary series from Arte, a Franco-German free-to-air television channel that shows cultural programming. It is jointly run by the French public TV broadcaster, France Télévisions, and the German public broadcasters, ARD and ZDF. This series challenges our existing knowledge by exploring untold stories and perspectives, moving beyond Eurocentrism and persistent clichés. hyperebene Studio has invited us to co-create mixed-media animations for the first episode of the series.
Synopsis
How severe was the plague? The so-called Black Death (circa 1346 –1353) claimed millions of lives and profoundly altered the social order in Europe. However, even more devastating were the diseases that Columbus brought to the Indigenous peoples of America in 1492. Do these small instigators of change have more influence on the course of history than we do?
