La Biga Italian Bistro
An Italian Bistro Identity Balancing
Timeless Tradition and Modern Craft.
La Biga is an Italian bistro specialising in Roman-style pizza and fresh pasta. The identity draws on the familiar visual cues of Italian dining, reinterpreted with clarity and a modern sensibility.
Assignment
Develop a visual language that integrates seamlessly into the brand’s ecosystem and amplifies its character. The system needed to work effortlessly in print, packaging, signage, and environmental graphics — ensuring a unified experience at every touchpoint. Recognisability with a minimal set of elements was key, alongside the ability to retain expression at any scale.
Design Direction
The identity is anchored by a concise logotype and a proprietary fleur-de-lis pattern — a fusion of historical reference and modern graphic execution. The core palette pairs warm ochre with deep black, providing contrast and visual weight, while white, green, orange, and a deep wine red are introduced as accents for specific touchpoints, seasonal communications, and tactile materials. The pattern, along with extracted graphic elements, is applied as a secondary device across printed materials, packaging, and spatial applications, establishing a consistent rhythm and a recognisable atmosphere for the brand.
