Suffix Abuse is an atrocious name, right? I landed on it because I'm a grammar junkie who grossly abuse suffixes -- see the title I chose for myself.

Suffix Abuse is the moniker I operate under when doing freelance work. It’s also the name I use across most social media platforms, including my Etsy shop. If Suffix Abuse was a full-time creative agency, it would specialize in stationery, wedding suites, greeting cards, typography, multi-page layout and photography with a side of web design.

At Callahan Creek I worked on a variety of multidisciplinary projects from print ads, P. O. P. materials, annual reports, brochures, direct mail pieces, identity, packaging, email templates, web design, web banners, photo editing and even origami. I loved working with photographers, interacting with clients and seeing projects through from conception to production.

The World Company is the parent company to the Lawrence Journal-World newspaper. I spent my days at “The L-J-Dub” designing ads for area businesses. My favorite projects were developing a newsletter for the Eudora school district and streamlining the production of the Lawrence Parks and Recreation seasonal classes publication.

At Penton Media (formerly Primedia Business) I was really able to cultivate my design skills right out of college. My responsibilities included designing monthly covers, conceptualizing and designing feature spreads as well as department and column articles. I loved the challenge of working with content to make it fit in the space of a pre-determined imposition.
