Swanton-based 180th Fighter Wing will hold night flying training missions with flares that may be seen or heard in Toledo area and Hillsboro/southern Ohio Dec. 9-12.
SWANTON, Ohio (WTVG) - The 180th Fighter Wing of Swanton hosted its Stinger 5K Event on Sunday morning. The 5K run/walk featured a route that included a start and finish at the 9/11 Memorial.

According to the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio Air National Guard, it will conduct an air defense exercise Monday, between 4 and 7 p.m. in and around the Chillicothe and Hillsboro areas.
According to a spokesman for the 180th Fighter Wing based near Toledo, the air defense exercise will be over Northwest Ohio from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. today and could be seen by people around Lima.

The 180th Fighter Wing formed in 1995. The headquarters is in Swanton, near Toledo. Past night flight missions have been heard and noticed by southeast Michigan residents.
