After using a factory-finished receiver on our AK-47 build, American Rifleman was invited back to MOD Outfitters to see how an AK receiver is built from a flat stamping.

Thanks to the AK-47's largely unstandardized design, adding a receiver is more complicated than one might think. Both unfinished and finished receivers will need rivet holes drilled for the trunnions.
