Deputies found 35 live abalone, tools used for illegally prying the shellfish from coastal rocks, and a northwestern pond turtle, according to the news release.

About 35 illegally harvested abalone were recovered during a probation search Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, in Windsor. Recreational harvesting of the sea snails has been banned since 2017.
