Bottom line: With Animate CC, Adobe is trying to drive home the point that its tools are used to deliver animations using any Web standard. Animate CC will be available in early 2016.

In addition, Adobe has released a software update for Adobe Animate CC 19.2.1 and earlier on Windows, and Animate CC version 20 on Windows and macOS.

With Animate CC, Adobe moves away from the now derided Flash technology, putting its eggs into the new HTML5 basket, a trend that will hopefully be picked up by more content creators on the Web.

Adobe Animation CC will still be able to export animations as Flash, Air, HTML 5, and SVG, so the renaming of the product will not stop Flash from being created, used, and deployed on the web.
