Bamboo Lounge is a tiki bar owned by Anthony Stevens, owner of two other Winston-Salem bars: Vintage Sofa and Whiskey Dawgs.
He found a small bamboo tiki bar with stools on Facebook Marketplace for $175 and built everything around that. “The bar was the most expensive part,” he says.
The Bamboo Hut The Bamboo Hut opens daily at 5 p.m. on weekdays and 7 p.m on Saturdays (closed Sundays, except for this one, during the North Beach Italian Heritage parade).
Construction on the lounge was completed in about a month, with guidance from a renowned tiki-bar builder known as Bamboo Ben. “A lot of people have been peeping in,” Belshe said.
Many of the bar’s Tiki items and materials came from the now-defunct, California-based Oceanic Arts, which served as the world’s largest supplier of Tiki decor for 66 years before closing in 2021.
