The Prospect Park Zoo is closed indefinitely after its basement power and heating systems were destroyed by about 25 feet of floodwater from the remnants of Tropical Storm Ophelia two weeks ago.

More than 5,000 customers in the Chico area lost power at around 1:40 p.m. Thursday in relation to the stormy weather. The PG&E outage map noted that crews are currently working to restore the power.
