In Louisiana, birds begin migrating through the state at around 10 p.m. and begin dissipating at around 7 a.m. the following morning, according to BirdCast's live migration map.

Fall migration is a bit tougher to pin down, but many see it as starting on Aug. 1, with the bulk of fall migration occurring between late August and mid-October.

Fall migration is generally between Aug. 1 and Nov. 30. Peak migration is defined by the seasonal window during which about 50% of nocturnal bird migration traffic passes through an area.
