Speaking of catchy slogans — or in this case a catchy name — the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) has rebranded as the Recycled Materials Association, or ReMA for short.
The agency held a contest over the summer to find a slogan that could be used anywhere in the state to encourage people to recycle. Judges narrowed more than 200 submissions down to 21 finalists.
“Because recycling is important,” said 10-year-old Abigail Degn, whose picture in the Anacortes Public Works recycle slogan contest won her a best slogan plaque.
