So far this year, the DNR has reported approximately 300 dead birds in five different Michigan counties. Of these, Canada geese rank the most common with other wild birds.

Currently, there are 42 threatened species of birds in Michigan, with nine listed as endangered. As a member of the Great Lakes Audubon Club, I appreciate the significance of these DNR listings.
