Their hack works by decomposing RGB colors into a combination of four basic pigments. The team chose Phthalo Blue, Quinacridone Magenta, Hansa Yellow, and Titanium White as a reasonable basis.
The blue pigment still reflects blue, and the yellow pigment still reflects yellow. When these colors reach our eyes, overlapped, our brain interprets them as being green.
They are blue sensitive, green sensitive, and red sensitive. As for the black bit (which I see as gold), it's called additive mixing. Blue, green and red are the main colors for additive mixing.
