Perched right on the caldera’s rim, Crater Lake Lodge has been a favorite spot to overnight in the park since 1915. The historic Crater Lake Lodge has welcomed National Park visitors since 1915.

The contemporary, 4,000-square-foot lodge has two living areas, a dining room that can seat up to 24 people, six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a wraparound covered deck with a gas grill.

Rooms are a little pricey, beginning at $200 per night. Guests relax in the Great Hall’s heavy leather furniture or out on the terrace in rockers overlooking Crater Lake.

Visitation figures aren’t available for July, but Ackerman said rooms at the Crater Lake Lodge and Mazama Village cabins are booked through the rest of the summer.
