I’m not surprised smashing stuff in Donkey Kong Bananza is enjoyable. In the tutorial alone, I, like many others, spent ages demolishing everything I could get my (giant gorilla) hands on, and it’s a given that something designed well enough to distract from the main attraction like that is still going to feel good 10 or 20 hours later.

He’s finally back to kick some tail. He’s Nintendo’s loveable gorilla, and you know him well. Donkey Kong Bananza has hit the Switch 2 and players are praising it as the best Donkey Kong game so far, busting up bad guys with Pauline while hunting for gems and taking on Void Kong and King K. Rool. The whole adventure is an utter blast!

If all future Nintendo Switch 2 games receive this much time and attention—with such a focus on playing to the dockable handheld’s strengths—then we could be looking at one of the best consoles of all time. Donkey Kong Bananza one of those games that you end up buying an entire console for, and not regretting it one bit.
