Instead, the team at Holden Special Vehicles has created the GTS-R W1. It's powered by an LS9 V8, and just 300 examples will be built, providing a fitting farewell to the classic Aussie V8.

The GTS also has larger brakes, unique 20-inch wheels, and a special body kit to set it apart from other HSV GTS models. GM previously announced that its Australian manufacturing will cease by 2017.

Holden Special Vehicles has had their final 2017 HSV GTS-R W1 spied completely uncovered outside of its Clayton headquarters, which will feature an LS9 V8.

This is the Holden HSV GTS. It's a 2014 Chevy SS with the 575 horsepower supercharged V8 from the Camaro ZL1. That makes this Australia's most powerful car. Of course, it isn't coming to America.
