This Thursday, Dec. 15, photo shows the Olsen family's ice castle, a sculpture they created using a 1989 Ford F-150 truck, Christmas lights and a sprinkler system.

Wertin said that this concept had been submitted to the Art in Public Places board a few years ago but at the time, during COVID, the board decided to go with something more whimsical for the times.

Visitors can rediscover the meaning of Christmas along with Peanuts characters, coming to life in more than 2 million pounds of colorful, larger-than-life ice sculptures hand-carved by 37 artisans.

The basic set-up of ICE remains in place. Colorful sculptures are carved out of 2 million pounds of ice by 40 Chinese artisans. The space, spread over several rooms, is kept at 9 degrees Fahrenheit.
