In Europe alone, there are said to be around 200 cups, each thought to be the Holy Grail – the cup used by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper. Believers flock to see them and pray over them.
Subsequently, the Holy Grail figures in an early 13th-century poem by Robert de Boron, now specifically connecting the Grail with a disciple of Jesus, Joseph of the Jewish city of Arimathea.
The Holy Grail is subject of many legends, myths and films but the ancient tale orginated with the story of Jesus' Last Supper - where a cup was used to share the Messiah's blood.
