Slice of Lime started in 2001. It has done work with MapQuest, Qdoba, SendGrid, and Sphero, among others. Other recent Pivotal acquisitions include CloudCredo, Quickstep Technologies, and Xtreme Labs.

Pivotal Labs, based in Palo Alto, announced Tuesday it has acquired Slice of Lime, an 18-person digital design firm specializing in user experience. Terms were not disclosed.
