The MT-07 receives the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle ride-by-wire system, a first for the entire CP2 platform. This opens up two preset ride modes, Sport and Street, plus a third customizable mode.

The MT-07 was redesigned in 2025 to more closely resemble the MT-09. The MT-09 is larger, less efficient, and more powerful. In fact, it's one of Yamaha's 10 fastest bikes ever.
