Dallas Masjid of Al Islam is renovating an old warehouse — which is about 4,000 square feet on a .7-acre lot — to house its Beacon of Light Community Center.

Masjid Al-Islam, located in the Cedars neighborhood south of downtown Dallas, has come a long way since the early days, when its congregation was small and paying the electric bill was a struggle.
