The summertime can be miserable when you're burning up on your patio, but there's a DIY project involving PVC pipes that will keep you cool when the sun is out.

Attach a length of PVC piping to the end of the vacuum hose and seal the seam with some duct tape. Now raise the new nozzle to the ceiling and turn on the vacuum cleaner.
