Old Dominion University sent out two “Urgent Alerts” through text message to ODU students and staff. The first alert, just after 10 p.m., said ODU police were investigating a shooting.

According to an ODU Alert sent out around noon, police responded to a report of a robbery at the Scotland House student dormitory on Elkhorn Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
