Though extraordinarily popular in its own right, Rainbow Loom was not the first rubber band toy to become a status symbol among children — that honor goes to Silly Bandz.

Today, the Rainbow Loom sells for $14.99 to $16.99 and is sold at educational and hobby stores around the U.S., including more than 1,000 Michaels craft stores, and widely online.

Isabelle thinks that unlike Silly Bandz - the ready-made rubber-band bracelets that were all the rage a few years ago - Rainbow Loom bracelets will be around for a while.
