A Metra Rock Island train struck a pedestrian early Wednesday morning, prompting delays on inbound trains ahead of the morning commute.
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Metra train struck a car, disrupting service on the Rock Island line Tuesday morning. Metra said Rock Island train #404 hit a vehicle at 111th Street near Marshfield Avenue.
Metra said an inbound Rock Island train hit the woman around 7:15 p.m. near 99th Street and Vincennes Avenue. The wheelchair was found on the tracks after she was hit.
The commuter rail said to expect extensive delays after the crash on the Rock Island Line near Robbins. Train No. 419, scheduled to arrive in Joliet at 4:02 p.m. was delayed after hitting the vehicle.
