Tonight, once the cold front passes into Virginia towards the east, our severe threat will be over. Northwest winds take over allowing temperatures to drop back into the low to mid 50s.

Wind advisory on Thursday. (WSET) LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Thursday the winds will be picking up behind the cold front pushing through with some wind gusts pushing 30 mph or higher.

Clouds break and sunshine returns Tuesday with highs still stuck in the mid 30s. A southerly wind shift will provide a brief "warm up" Wednesday but highs will still end up slightly below normal.
