Unfortunately for current Surface Pro Type Cover owners, the Surface Pro 8 uses an all-new connector due to the new design and shape. It does, however, work with the newer Surface Pro X Type Cover.

If you're having physical issues with the Type Cover on your Surface Pro 8, don't worry. The most common fix is cleaning the POGO ports on the bottom of the Surface Pro 8, or on the Type Cover.

Ever since the Surface Pro 3, the type cover has evolved, but only in very small ways. The good news is that the cover is great to type on with good travel and pitch between the keys.
