Every entity who intends to undertake CSR activity shall register itself with the Central Government by filing the form CSR -1, electronically with the Registrar, w.e.f. 1st April, 2021. Form CSR -1 is to be certified by a Chartered Accountant / Company Secretary / Cost Accountant.

Rule 4 (2) of the New Companies CSR Amendment Rules, 2021 specifies the following procedure for the registration of an NGO with an MCA portal for accessing corporate CSR funds: Every NGO that intends to undertake the CSR activity need to register itself with the Central Government by filing the form CSR-1 electronically with the Registrar

The following documents are required for CSR Registration for NGO: Copy of the NGO PAN Card Email ID and Mobile Number of all members Details of the members of the Governing Body Copy of Registration Certificate DSC of the Authorised Person with his PAN Number

The NGOs are required to obtain a CSR Registration Number, 80 G and 12 A registration to undertake the CSR activities. On the other hand, the companies are also expected to ensure compliance to these norms while sanctioning and implementing its CSR activities.
