Alien Stage is basically a series about a tournament-esque singing competition (called Alien Stage). In this universe, the aliens have taken over planet earth and made humans their pets. The storyline follows a new character each round and their respective song that reveals their backstory, etc. The episodes are quite short, but it is an enjoyable watch! Would recommend.

Yes, this anime is formuleic, and yes it's full of stuff you've seen time and time before and executed in mediocre fasion. But what really bothers me about it is the complete and utter lack of any and all thematic depth or substance.
