Dec 24, 2021 · The exp they're gaining is the experience of being in the fight. If they technically weren't considered to be in the fight at all because they fainted, then technically the exp share should still share exp with them as it shares exp with Pokemon who never participated at all.

Jun 15, 2015 · The pokemon probably have the same type of effect, they seem to be rather intelligent for animals, and can appreciate the implications of a flying pokeball. I believe pokeballs have a system established that prevents the capture of fainted pokemon for a number of reasons.

Aug 12, 2022 · The Pokemon just get scrapped up a bit, in the "street fights" (vs team rocket, vs wild Pokemon, etc.) That's when both trainers and Pokemon get seriously injured, so in universe it's the difference between friendly matches and unfriendly matches (if you haven't read it before I recommend you give the Pokemon manga a read, it's so good)
