Notes
This item includes field notes and topographical maps for Allegheny State Park and Salamanca. Maps have locality markings. A note on the envelope states, "These notes and maps were made in the summer of 1930 just before coming to the Museum. I passed the Civil Service test before working in the Park and went from the Park to Washington." [Page notation in LOWER LEFT corner was placed during archival processing to maintain order in the notes.] Field notes document paleontological specimen and geology of Peters Creek, Allegany River, Salamanca, Coon Hallow, and other New York localities. Various specimen are described, but examples of common specimen include pelecypods (a bivalve mollusk) and the brachiopod genus camarotoechia.
