Just found your blog. Sometimes I wished I had chosen surgery...instead I don't use my hands at all!
I also just read your blog about Dr. Ripoffs.
In the field of psychiatry, it is even worse. There is even less 'standard of care', and people have no idea what happens behind these closed doors. Sometimes, I wonder if my patients think I am ripping them off when I recommend weekly therapy sessions. On the other hand, I can say with confidence, I am an above average psychiatrist, might even be a really good one (no way to tell, since my peers all close their doors.)
Interesting to struggle with that, you know?
