cute and cozy. the MC reminds me of amelia bedelia bc of her charm and quirkiness. the LI is sweet and a good match for her as well. the MC's background story, the mystery of her memories, and the thematic lessons about believing in love were a nice touch of depth. i wish the MC also learned she didn't have to find validation in men though. she never seemed to challenge why she wanted a man so badly due to societal pressure, and i would've liked seeing that character development more. ]]> AuthorQaSetting217486 Mon, 26 Jan 2026 08:36:46 -0800 ReadStatus10456850771 Sun, 25 Jan 2026 12:34:30 -0800 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/8299008533 Cindy is currently reading What We Don't Talk About When We Talk About Fat by Aubrey Gordon

i've been wanting to read more nonfic books about fat politics and am glad i started with this one, although it's going to set a high bar compared to the rest of my tbr! i thought this was a great source of knowledge for intersectionality with fatness and how beauty standards shifted to ostracize immigrants. it's all connected!! but i also spent the majority of the book being disgusted hearing all these men's extensive writings about women's bodies (including observing school girls and how they're lacking? eww) when i just KNOW these men were chopped. i do wish we got more of the author's opinions to balance it out rather than predominantly historical reports. we got more of this towards the end but i would've liked it more interspersed throughout the book. like pls i need this diva to share her thoughts so i get a palate cleanser between all these gross men and racist women ]]> Review8260285933 Sun, 25 Jan 2026 12:27:22 -0800 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/8260285933 Cindy has read The Knight and the Moth (The Stonewater Kingdom, #1) by Rachel Gillig
