There are so many negative reviews for this Harry Potter spoof but I loved it! While I expect a lot of die hard fans of the Potterverse will be greatly offended that anyone would dare parody the brilliance of J.K. Rowling it felt to me like someone from MAD magazine had been hired to provide an overview of the series and I laughed from beginning to end.
It is over the top. There’s toilet humour. Cameos include Elmo, Yoda, Larry King and Elmer Fudd. There are jokes that are so terrible I had to laugh at their absurdity. Harry’s scar morphs from scene to scene, from question marks to dollar signs to Prince’s love symbol.
The names of the characters we know and love get a makeover. Harry Potty is friends with Don Measley and Whiny Stranger. Barista Frappe teaches Defence Against the Dark Farts at Nosewarts. Harry is constantly trying to defeat Valuemart and his Odor Eaters. Students use their toilet plungers to cast spells including “REMEMBERALLTHISSTUFFICIS!” and all poor Valuemart wants is a nose.
If your blood boils at the thought of this heresy then this is not the graphic novel for you, but if you’re not horrified that someone would dare poke fun at Harry and his mates then you may find yourself enjoying a good chuckle like I did. I definitely want to read this one again!

lol this harry potter parody graphic novel is inappropriate and immature but admittedly sometimes funny. 2 stars for the effort.

The large majority of this book is painful and immature. I wondered throughout the entire book just who this was intended for, thinking that while the references seem appropriate for young adults, the poorly executed potty humor could only entertain an 8-12 year old (and I emphasize poorly executed; I have no objections with well-executed potty humor). It was only when the word "whore" was used that I realized I was reading a book that was meant for my age group but simply failed. HOWEVER, something really turned on in the last ten pages, which I found to be actually really funny. Pros: The ending, which was quite amusing and was more pop-relevant than anything else in the book, and Harry's occasional confusion between his objectives and those of other literary works. Cons: Every other page, drawing, and line of dialog in the only book. The last ten pages are the only thing keeping this from being a one star rating.

I read this whole entire thing in the library and you know what I say about it? D- I-S-G-U-S-T-I-NG!!!! It was insulting Harry Potter! You know who I would reccomend this to? People who hate Harry Potter, like, absolutely HATE it! You know what they call dumbledore? Dumb-as-a-door....

I have to admit, I didn't read this book myself but my seven yr old son did. He read the entire thing cover to cover in one sitting, even made his grandpa wait until he finished before they went and got ice cream! All I know is listening to him laugh out loud while he's reading a book is enough to make me recommend this.

There were two or three references in this book that were genuinely funny, but overall, reading it was just such an unpleasant experience. I didn't mind that it was a fairly snide parody of a book series that I love—that's fine. Parodies are fine, and can be done really well. I just honestly don't understand why everything in this one had to be so gross and terrible (in the most immature ways possible). Ugh.

Crude, sophomoric humor (perfect for boys who like that sort of thing--Harry carries a plunger instead of a wand), spoofing the Harry Potter series. MAD Magazine-esque. Characters have names like Whiny Stranger and Dumb As A Door instead of Hermione Granger and Dumbledore.

My favorite part of this is Harry's scar, which keeps changing, from dollar-sign to question mark, exclamation mark to Prince's symbol, Kilroy, a thumb (or finger), peace sign and lots of others. I also liked the punny alternate names: Whiny Stranger and Don Measley instead of Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, the tree-headed dog Bigsillybus instead of three-headed Cerberus. Several of the spells are interesting too: Rememberallthisstufficis, Cappucino venti, Randomwordicus, Galapagos, Glutimus maximus. The nose-picking and vomiting are straight out of MAD magazine, which this resembles in its sophomoric humor.

I found this book at my university’s library. I knew I would probably hate it but felt the urge to read it anyway so I checked it out. My god, it was awful. I think I laughed out loud like four times but other than that, it was quite ridiculous. I think I would have more respect for the book if the authors had gotten some more key information correct about the characters. I could write a parody of Harry Potter and make it funny while keeping details fairly accurate. For anyone who already doesn’t like Harry Potter, this book is for you but for die-hard fans, this is definitely not it.

Parody of the Harry Potter series in graphic novel format. The jokes are all over the place. Harry Potty's forehead scar, which changes shape depending on his mood, is kind of entertaining, but I'm not sure why his Fake Nose and Glasses of Amusement (with mustache) make him look so much like Hitler. Elmo and Yoda have a random cameo. The most of a connecting thread I can find is the characters' names - Harry Potty, Don Measley, Whiny Stranger, Value-Mart, and so on.

This book wins the award for :- you should judge a book by its cover. The hint was right there with Deathly boring in the title itself. TBH, I couldn't get to finish it having pushed myself till halfway thinking things will improve. Juvenile humour feels a bit more classier. Credit for the illustrations but zilch on the content especially the way they treated this parody.

Some of the most bizarre shit I've ever read. There were some genuinely funny things because they were so DUMB, but they didn't last when they did come up and most of it was *just dumb* in a lazy way and not a funny way. At least not my sense of humor.

this book sucks! My daughter read it and burst into tears. she loves harry potter and she felt really offended, it is also quite inappropriate for children. My daughter managed to rip 6 pages off the book before i stopped her. DO NOT BUY.
