Deserted: Book 6 in the Agent Rawlings Series of FBI Thrillers
Bodies, strangled and dumped along the interstate, send Agent Hank Rawlings and the rest of his team to Texas. The method of homicide, as well as the locations where the bodies are found, are identical to those from a six-year-old investigation.
When the wheels touch down in Dallas, the team is greeted with another body and a possible eyewitness. They quickly put together a suspect profile, a profile that leaves the agents with more questions than answers.
Little does Hank, or anyone else at the Bureau, know the true level of savagery of those they seek. When the evidence puts the two sides face to face, nothing will ever be clearer.

The cases are fantastic, the insane amount of irrelevant details is mind-boggling, just how many hotel rooms and article of clothing details can somebody waste putting into a book reaches mammoth proportions with this author.
Loved how Hank and Beth were not angst-driven characters. Very frustrating to have the series end after just 6 books, the characters could have developed so much more.
The only annoying development is how Hank came in as the junior and then became the call maker.
FBI agents Hank Rawlings and Beth Harper face their most difficult case yet in author E.H. Reinhard's, "Deserted". The sixth book in this excellent series finds the pair investigating a string of killings that stretch from Memphis to El Paso with bodies being left along interstate highways. A task force that had been concentrating on this string of murders didn't realize how far the path of the killer(s) actually encompassed. It seems a pair of twin girls Kerry and Kitty Levy, both around 20, drive a big rig 18 wheeler and like to collect victims to rob and kill. Picking up hitchhikers or just grabbing people from local diners to lock up in the back of their trailer is a game these girls like to play. Some of their victims they just kill and leave their bodies along various highways. Some victims get to ride to the home of the twins who live down by the Texas/ Mexico border. Papa Silas Levy, and his equally reprehensible brother Harper take great joy torturing and killing those victims the twins deliver home. Yes, this murderous family have their own little compound where evil reigns. Hank and Beth are both challenged while tracking this family of killers. The plot is chock full of intense action sequences. Though being somewhat a short read just over 200 pages, this one is dynamite from start to finish. Short and to the action right away is sometimes a very good thing. This high octane action and gritty drama are well supported by it's two solid protagonists in Rawlings/ Harper. All six of author E.H. Reinhard's Hank Rawlings/ Beth Harper books are top notch suspense thrillers. In, "Deserted", the supporting characters are plenty scary and vile enough to keep this thriller spinning at top speed. Kerry and Kitty are certainly two girls one would not like to come across driving an 18 wheeler on the highway. Five stars out of a possible five stars for, "Deserted". Author E.H. Reinhard's Hank Rawlings (and Carl Kane) series are must reads for suspense thriller readers. Do not miss either of these series. Check it out, good reading !
Mr Reinhard has done it again: an amazing story ~ albeit rather gruesome and disturbing ~ leads Hank Rawlings to Texas to witness depravity in a family. Surprisingly, while I have no words for this, at the same time, I am sorry to admit this is not out of the realm of possibility . . . . can't wait to see what will happen as Hank's wife continues her quest for a child! SOOOO many more stories out there for Hank . . .
The Hank Rawlings book 6 is the best in the series. The characters, or the criminals, in Deserted are both reckless and cunning, and it takes a while for the FBI team to catch up with the primary characters, all family wack job cold hearted killers! This Hank Rawlings thriller is a thrill ride indeed!
Character development is very good and the pace is captivating. Looking forward to any future entries into this series as I have read all of them the current available titles.
I've read this authors books and really enjoyed them. One warning about this one is the crime scenes are very graphic. Especially at the ranch, otherwise it was an absorbing book.
This is a great storyline. I enjoyed the interaction with all the police and the FBI Departments. The whole case came down to a little mistake by one of the bad people. The response from the crazy family was immediate and lethal. Crazy people.
Some roads are longer than others in life! Beware!
Death always comes unexpected, but it is there You cannot run from it, but why is your fellow man is to blame? Sick deranged people are all around us. Who can you trust? Teenagers?
I loved this series. Oh I sure hated just to 6 in the series. I hope their will be a book 7. These books were so goo. I recommend everyone reads them. I can say this on book 2 I did gag some while reading but a great read.
An excellent conclusion to the series. Sad to leave agent hank Rawlings but I don’t think the author could have carried the series on. Still gonna miss him tho. Good read.
