While you can read the series without reading the short stories, I feel they add a richer understanding. And any story with Aaron and Shoshana is worth reading IMHO. We find out some really interesting backstory that is related to the characters in the previous boI love these short stories that Brad Taylor writes. We find out some really interesting backstory that is related to the characters in the previous book. This time, it's the backstory for Aaron and Shoshana. I found it most interesting because we find out more about Aaron, who is a bit of an enigma in the full-length Pike Logan novels. Brad Taylor has great character development and the story is fully fleshed out, unlike some of the other short stories I've read by other authors. If you are a big fan of the Pike Logan series, it's well worth your time to read the short stories....more

But, the fluent Spanish does come in handy later in the story. I'll have to ask Brad about that the next time he's on book tour....more
