I only read an advance copy because someone I know totally loved Family Fang which I have not read. This book was OK. I almost gave up on it numerous times, and it took me a long time to finish, because I just didn't care enough about it. The last third was more enjoyable although part of the ending was entirely predictable. It did have interesting characters and a unique premise.
