Gobowen station, 1997
View SE, towards Shrewsbury and the South: ex-GWR Birmingham etc. - Shrewsbury - Chester main line, junction of the branch to Oswestry. The branch passenger service ceased from 7/11/66, but goods continued into 1971 and the track is still in situ and may be acquired by the Cambrian Heritage Railways Trust. The remarkable Italianate architecture of the building has led to its becoming Grade II listed - and to its renovation.
