crafting the future, thread by thread
what if the spaces and objects of tomorrow are not mass produced, but meticulously crafted? this chapter explores what it means to be a maker today. craft here is not a nostalgic look backward, but the realization that, as richard sennet famously argued, making is thinking, and that this shared intellectual labor is how we forge profound relationships with our environment and each other. by choosing to meticulously craft our physical world, we are doing more than building sustainable architectures. we are reinforcing the very essence of what it means to be human.
